Scaffold Student Essays Using GoFormative

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

When writing an essay, we want our students to outline their ideas ahead of time, but DO they? And if they do--how often is their outline treated by students as BUSY work: completed only to be discarded and not actually used in the final product? In this session I'll show you how I have used GoFormative to BLUR the line between outlining and drafting--guiding students to develop ideas without the added pressure of staring at a blank document or the seeming burden of a busy-work assignment. During our session we'll actually go through the process using a short poem as an example, and you'll leave with access to my templates to adapt to your own next essay assignment. A device (tablet, chromebook, etc.) is recommended.
